All the Purell in the world will not keep you from getting sick if a school  aged child coughs on you square in the face. Currently home and drunk on vodka toddies. Surprisingly, still good at Bejeweled.

Someone at the school I work for hates me. For the past four years I've worked as a substitute teacher and was the first pick for many of the teachers. About 18 months ago I damaged my voice (teaching!) and had to cut back quite a bit. I've slowly but surely fallen off the preferred list and landed on the shit list. I've had laryngitis since Thursday. I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO TALK SINCE THURSDAY. I'm starting to freak out. I'm really not much of a talker, but when you can't talk at all, for days on end, it starts to get a little weird. I substituted in kindergarten this week and had a great time, aside from 45 minutes, when a psycho mom of one of the students came into the class and accused the kids of being bad (they weren't) and yelled at them in a high-pitched, Sunday School, mean/nice voice and scared us all and then proceeded to stay and "help", even though she had a baby ( Read more... )

Friday I had a terrible day at the school. I was substituting in the 3rd grade and the kids were especially manic, probably because it was snowing heavily and they were forced to stay in for recess.
